Key Features:

The Belmont, a true masterpiece, underwent a remarkable transformation as we revitalized an existing 1950's structure, infusing it with contemporary elements while intentionally preserving a retro aesthetic. Our collaboration with Cathcart Architecture and Tory DeMarce brought to life a distinctive restaurant spanning three levels, boasting a completely new commercial kitchen, a dedicated prep kitchen, and a unique design that presented its share of challenges. From building and installing the trumpets inside to mimic the exterior facade, to the development of an HVAC system suppling conditioned air year-round for the outdoor tables, no detail was overlooked. The incorporation of garage doors surrounding the restaurant added an outdoor charm, perfectly complementing the exceptional culinary and beverage offerings, resulting in an unforgettable dining experience. Employing the Construction Manager at-Risk method, this project epitomizes our commitment to excellence. In recognition of our collective efforts, The Belmont, in collaboration with Icon Structures and Cathcart Architecture, was honored with the coveted Wichita Business Journal Project of the Year award in 2021.

Project Info

Facing the challenge of maintaining the building's glamorous and lavish aesthetic, we introduced garage doors surrounding the dining area and implemented a fully functional HVAC system to regulate outdoor seating temperatures. The construction phase was not without obstacles, as extensive asbestos remediation and structural framing were necessary due to termite damage. The design process unfolded concurrently with construction, resulting in a seamless integration of a basic floor plan and the creation of interior "trumpets." We fabricated new molds, hoisting them into place for an interior-exterior transition. Custom additions such as soffits, eyebrows, stairs, bar, metalwork, and tile were crafted to bestow The Belmont with an elevated sense of sophistication. The dedication to preserving the building's iconic look while infusing innovative elements to meet the evolving needs of the space. and proudly completed on time and within budget.
